Today I want to talk about weddings, and having an end of night plan!
So the end of the night comes, you have been at the venue since 9am, getting your hair and makeup done, taking pictures, eating lunch, through the ceremony, dinner, dance, and reception. All of a sudden the last song is playing and you’re trying to figure out what to do with your flowers, and vases, and centerpieces, and bags full of your street clothes and make up! I can’t stress enough, the importance of having an end of night plan! Not only for yourself, but for your wedding party and guests! Most venues want everything out by a certain time, and they make no exception!
Centerpieces – If you’re working with a professional florist, some give you the option to have someone come back to the venue later and take all of the vases, candle holders, or whatever you’ve rented through them away. This is a great option because then you don’t have to figure out who’s going to start taking things down or where to put the flowers...
You head off to Kindergarten and before you know it you're graduating high school...guess what that means? Time for a big ole celebration...the Graduation Party!
What does everyone think about after attending a graduation party? Yes, of course - the decor, or the creative theme but, most importantly...everyone talks about the food!
We have several fantastic ideas for your upcoming Graduation Party, these will be sure to have guests of all ages raving about the food at your grad party (even if they attend 15 others on the same day)!
Build Your Own...
-Waffle Bar (OUR MOST POPULAR!)
-Loaded Scrambled Eggs
-Fajita Bar or Taco Bar
-Baked Potato Bar
-Loaded Chili Bar
-Sliders or Mini Hot Dogs
-Foot Long Hot Dogs
-Trail Mix"Happy Trails!"
Yes, we also have great options that are not "build your own"...
Holiday's are the time to fill your guests with delicious food that will challenge the excitement of any special gift. So, speaking of food...what is Fork & Flair up to this Holiday season? Here are some things to keep in mind when planning, and here are some new menu options that we are stirring up this year.
First things first:
-What time of day is your event?
-What is the location of your event? What type of service does it allow with your guest count?
-Who are the guests that will be attending? What style of menu would they enjoy?
-Any dietary needs/restrictions?
-Do you have a well rounded menu? (We will watch your back on this!)
Unlike many other dietary trends, the healthy lifestyle trend has been around for quite some time...and going strong! We have been serving up Yogurt Bars to many of our clients for those early morning meetings and events. The reviews are fantastic, our clients love the variety that the yogurt bar offers, as well as the option of a healthy yet hearty morning meal.

Pintrest.com has sparked a new level of creativity in our clients, giving us the ability to create some super adorable and tasty hors d'oeuvres for our weddings and events!
How about a Mini Pancake Skewer with Fresh Mint and Blueberry. These babies are pan fried in butter, and drizzled with maple syrup. How delicious, and too cute :)
Donuts, Donuts, Donuts. For dessert, late night snack, or in our option....for anytime!
As caterers, we are always behind the scenes at events-however, early April we had the opportunity to join in the fun!
International Special Events Society, Minneapolis St. Paul Chapter, put on a party to remember this year! Studio 54 was the theme of the Star Awards, and boy was it a blast! As Courtney was on the planning committee, she could not pass up the opportunity to represent Fork and Flair (formally Premier Catering and Event Planning), and sponsor the event. To keep with the theme, we put out a fondue display with Classic Swiss, Sharp Cheddar and Pilsner and of course CHOCOLATE! With so many different dipping options to choose from, we filled the table with endless choices including veggies, breads, homemade peanut butter cookies and who can resist a chocolate covered potato chip!
The event included a happy hour where guests drank signature cocktails, enjoyed Studio 54 themed hors d’oevures, and explored the different lounge areas open at that time. As they opened up the main...
If you’ve poked around our website a bit, I’m sure you noticed our Hors d’Oeuvres menu, and how many options are on it. We love hors d’ oeuvres because they give us the chance to be fun and creative! One of my favorite parts of this career is being able to help a client create the menu of their dreams!
One question that we get asked a lot is, “how many hors d’oeuvres do I need?”
There’s a few answers to that question.
For a cocktail hour, we recommend choosing 3-4 different options.
If you’d like to do heavy hors d’oeuvres for your “dinner service”, we recommend choosing 9-11 different options. This gives a good variety of things for people to choose from, while making sure no one goes home hungry! Remember, this doesn’t have to just be buffet style! You can do stations, “build your own” is always poplar, and of course there’s the option to butler pass too!

So, the BIG question... Why the Name Change?
I started building the "Premier" brand under a parent company, which is where we inherited the "Premier" name from. As time went on and I became an official owner of Premier Catering & Event Planning, I worked very hard to develop a brand to go with our name, and our style. The problem was I struggled to pull together a strong brand under the Premier name because- for me, the name did not represent the creative and unique company that I was building.
In time, all of us here at Fork & Flair Catering and Events decided to bite the bullet and tackle the name change. I knew that with a creative, fun, and memorable name - I would be able to create a stylized brand which would back our company perfectly...and take us to new levels!
Now that we have changed our name, Fork & Flair will be easily recognizable - with a bold an...
As a local Twin Cities catering company, we get to work with so many wonderful wedding coordinators. Over the course of an event and working closely together, they are not just a fellow vendor, they become a friend that shares the same passions and goals that we do!
We’ve put together a few questions to help you to get to know some of the top coordinators in the cities, give some helpful and friendly guidance, and also express our passion and love for what we do as an industry working together!
Q: What is the best part of your job as a wedding coordinator?
A: I love celebrations—simple as that! The energy and life that feeds into the weddings is outstanding. I get to work with loving couples and families who have so much excitement for this memorable day. Wedding coordinating gives me to opportunity to meld my creative side with my crazy organizational skills all while planning a party!
Believe it or not, we do more then just weddings! :)
Earlier this month we teamed up with Brave New Workshop and the Minnesota Timberwolves to put on a fun filled event for future season ticket holders.
Guests enjoyed complimentary hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, played games including a dance off, made posters for the game later that night, and participated in a giveaway before heading over the Target Center.
